How do we value fintech in 2021

what will the next 12 months mean for the Fintech industry?

What a year 2020 has been. The year 2020 was tough for many – from small businesses, to big high street retailers. We can’t however ignore the fact that the Covid pandemic certainly forced companies to adapt and learn to be agile quite quickly.  The study, shows 1,385 FinTech industries in 169 jurisdictions from mid-June to mid-August, showed  strong growth for the first half of 2020 compared to the same period in 2019, which was prior to the pandemic. The global fintech industry has continued to grow in 2020 despite the Covid-19 pandemic. However with the continued rollout of Open Banking regulations, the UK’s imminent exit from the EU and ever-growing customer demand for innovative financial products, How do we value fintech in 2021?

Tech Turns Finance

The world of digital payments has been changing ever since Apple Pay arrived on the scene in 2014, followed by Google (Android) Pay in 2015. In 2021, we should keep an eye out for big announcements from traditional tech companies as there is an increased drive for digital-first finance for the mobile-first generation.

Digital-Only Banking

According to one survey in US and UK, 14.2 million U.S. citizens consider a digital bank as their primary money management system and in U.K., 23% of the population (12 million people). As Covid-19 crisis, left many in a state of economic instability, digital banking services are gaining popularity due to their accessibility and ease of use. Will the pandemic permanently boost digital finance?

Putting it all together

Experts predict 2021 brings a bright future for fintech, despite all the challenges. It is a fact that the financial market is changing. Security is still the major risk area for financial companies, so the development of security strategies is firmly entrenched in the ranks of the 2021 trends. Anyhow, the current trends show that the fintech industry continues to develop and we should expect new breakthroughs in the near future.

Sharing links is another efficient tactic to boost engagement  on Twitter and shortened links allow you to share long URLs in a Tweet while maintaining the maximum number of characters for your message.

Generally, 92% of all interactions on Twitter are link clicks so,  always double check your links. A lot of mistakes can happen  when adding links to tweets that is, your link can be broken or it can lead to a wrong target. The  broken links can be caused by many reasons,  Maybe you missed out an important bit of the URL, when copying the link, or you forgot to add a space between your text and the link. So, always double check your links before posting.

5.  Curate quality content of others to boost interactions

twitter content

Sharing interesting and valuable content from others on your feed has many advantages, but it should also be connected to your topics. Curated content provides more content diversity for your feed and this can turn your Twitter channel into a valuable resource and mentioning sources and influencers in your Tweets will attract their attention for your Twitter channel.

6.  Re-purpose your content

boost twitter

Re-purpose your high-quality   content across multiple channel  and  Re-share your evergreen posts, videos, and graphics on a regular basis. Twitter is so busy, many of your followers will have most likely missed your tweet when you publish it for the first time because,  the lifetime of a Twitter post only lasts 18 minutes. Afterward, your tweet  will go down unread in the never-ending stream of new Twitter messages. So, it is a good idea to recycle your content from time to time by turning your content into different content formats.

7. Share motion graphics (GIFs) and memes for adding a funny touch

twitter gif

Twitter makes  extra easy to post motion GIFs.  To post GIFs, Simply click on the GIF-Button in your tweet box and select the one you like! Adding funny images and short clips are great for entertaining your followers. They are the kind of “personal content” to spice up your feed and  especially, on Fridays and during the holiday season, motion GIFs and memes are extremely popular and will grab your followers attention right away.

8. Share at the best times for more engagement in twitter

Knowing target audience’s peak hours on Twitter can have a major impact on your Twitter performance. Twitter users visit the network thrice a day, but only for a couple of minutes and the right timing can be crucial to your success on Twitter. Studies show, that engagement-rates directly relate to the numbers of followers seeing your tweet when they scroll by.

Generally, the best times to tweet  in  morning  from 8 a.m. – 10 a.m, midday from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m and
after work from 4 p.m. – 7 p.m.
Tweets posted during that time will generate 30% more interaction and tweets on weekends generate 17% higher engagement than on weekdays.

9.  Tweet at the right frequency

twitter time

Tweeting three times per day will get the best results for engagement because the average lifespan of a tweet only lasts for 18 minutes. To get as many eyeballs as possible for your tweet message, you need to share your message more than once but tweet with care and by regarding the new Twitter rules. Posting tweets too frequently can annoy and drive away your followers. Always try to vary your tweets with different comments, images, #hashtags or @handles if you reshare your posts.

10. Respond to mentions, retweets, and listings in time

tweet respond

The bigger your brand, the busier you will be on Twitter so keep an eye on your users’ engagement with your messages and look out for mentions, retweets.  Always respond  to followers  in time saying something as simple as “Thank you” will do the trick in most cases because people who have received responses to direct mentions also tend to engage more actively with your content in the future.. Active engagement on twitter messages will also help you to get in contact with influencers and potential customers.

11.  Keep it short

twitter message

The character limit for tweets has doubled from 140 to 280 characters but,  Twitter is still a short messaging network, so keep it even shorter!  Recent studies have shown that,  tweets around 110 characters increase interaction up to 17%. Tweets of about 80-110 characters are the ones working best to leverage engagement because, shorter messages make it easier for followers to retweet a tweet.

12.  Use hashtags and trending hashtags

hashtags

Hashtags have become  an essential part of tweets, Hashtags make it easier for your audience to find your tweets by searching for hashtags or keywords. By adding hashtags, your tweets will be 2 x more likely to get retweets than tweets without hashtags. But too many hashtags in your tweet can make your message difficult to read and grasp. Stick to 1-2 hashtags per tweet to get 21% more interaction because, Engagement decreases the more hashtags you use.

Using trending hashtags is a common trend for news-jacking on Twitter, but it has also become an indicator of hashtag spamming. You can use trending hashtags to get more attention for your tweets but, use them only if they have a direct reference to your tweets.

13. Use handles to reach out to influencers

twitter influencers

Mentioning @handles in your tweet will improve your chances of receiving likes, retweets, comments in return so, remember to tag other Twitter users, when sharing or commenting their content or when replying to it. While mentioning they will notice and most likely respond with a like, a retweet or a comment in return and this will push your tweets as well. Also tagging influencers or industry expert can skyrocket your impressions and clicks, as your tweet will appear on the mentioned feed as well.

14. Use a clear language and include powerful CTAs

CTA

Using clear and direct language as well as including strong call-to-actions  such as “please retweet” can have a tremendous impact on your engagement rate. In fact, tweets which include CTAs  getting retweeted 23% times more than tweets without.

15.  Ask questions

Ask Questions

Everyone likes to be asked and to give an opinion so, if you have an active community and engage regularly, asking questions will even work even better for you! If you think that your follower’s opinions matter to you, you can ask any question you like, even an absurd one and you will get a response.

Does twitter count your own views?

Twitter doesn't count your own impressions on your own tweets and If you refresh your own profile to boost your stats, it doesn't considered as impression. Because  Impressions, are the number of views a tweet receives; reach is the number of people who see it.

An impression might not actually mean a person saw the tweet because,  If I load my Twitter feed and then get distracted by something and close it, I probably gave +1 impression to a 20 plus tweets without actually reading any of them.  That is, no bonus engagement, no interaction of any kind, but an added impression across the board.
